The National Reactor Innovation Center hosted a visit for Armenia’s Nuclear Radiation and Safety Center to Idaho National Laboratory. Organized in conjunction with Brookhaven National Laboratory, the visit provided technical assistance to the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Agency, with the goal of improving the agency’s regulatory and technical capabilities under the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s International Technical Assistance program. The Nuclear Radiation and Safety Center provides technical support to the Armenian regulatory agency.
During the visit NRIC staff conducted a workshop on small modular reactors and other advanced reactors, discussing technical designs and potential licensing applications and approaches. The visitors also toured INL’s demonstration and testing facilities.
NRIC works with domestic and international stakeholders interested in demonstrating and deploying advanced reactor systems.
