Air Force selects Radiant to deliver microreactors to Buckley Space Force Base

The Department of the Air Force, in conjunction with the Defense Innovation Unit, today announced that it has selected Radiant to develop and operate a nuclear microreactor proposed for Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, in fulfillment of the Advanced Nuclear Power for Installations (ANPI) initiative. Oklo provides updates on DOE, NRC approvals

On March 17, Oklo released a series of four press releases in the span of a few hours containing some of the first substantial updates the company has given on its various approval processes with the Department of Energy and Nuclear Regulatory Commission since January. Specifically, Oklo announced that it has received two nuclear safety design agreement (NSDA) approvals from the DOE and a materials license from the NRC.

Licensing of Oklo pilot reactor facilities advances

Nuclear technology company Oklo has received US Department of Energy approval for the Nuclear Safety Design Agreements for both its first Aurora powerhouse at Idaho National Laboratory and Atomic Alchemy's Groves Isotopes Test Reactor in Texas. Atomic Alchemy has also been granted issued a materials licence for the isotope reactor.
